“Nature Photo Frame Creation,” a Biodiversity Conservation Activity That Can Be Done at Home
As part of its biodiversity conservation activities near Tokyo, the Hitachi High-Tech Group has been conducting forest maintenance and installing insect hotels at the Takao Forest Nature School, operated by THE SEVEN-ELEVEN FOUNDATION.
To introduce more members to the Hitachi High-Tech Group’s biodiversity conservation activities and provide opportunities to engage with nature, the Sustainability Management Dept. has been organizing “biodiversity conservation activities that can be done at home” in addition to on-site activities at the Takao Forest Nature School.
This time, 27 members from Hitachi High-Tech Group companies in Japan participated in creating nature photo frames using wood, tree branches, and pinecones collected at the Takao Forest Nature School.
Participants shared photos of their completed nature photo frames and the creation process, generating a lot of positive feedback. In addition to the provided tree branches and pinecones, participants decorated their photo frames with flowers, ribbons, and other items, creating warm and uniquely creative works.
We hope that by creating these nature photo frames, which made effective use of natural materials collected from the forest maintenance site, participants had an opportunity to consider “the relationship between natural forests and humans” and “the biodiversity and importance of forests.”
The Sustainability Management Dept. will continue to promote biodiversity conservation activities, including through online initiatives, and plan activities that many members can engage in both on-site and at home.
