Tokyo, January 9, 2024 – Takashi Iizumi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hitachi High-Tech Corporation delivered this New Year’s Message to employees.

New Year’s greetings to everyone.
First, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Japan. I pray for those who have lost loved ones in this disaster.

Last year, it has also been a year that has brought us a deep sense of upheaval in the world, with the instability in global affairs, the natural disasters, and so on. There has been a great deal of upset on the business front as well, with some markets also facing challenging situation. However, at Hitachi High-Tech Group, we have operated our business in various fields and achieved a high performance, with each business segments covering other segments and the whole company working together in unison. I am full of gratitude to everyone.

Currently, we are in the middle of the 2024 Mid-Term Management Plan ("2024 Mid-Term Plan"), and in 2023 we pushed forward with a number of investments in order to respond the further expansions in the market going forward, including the new production facility for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and the acquisition of new factory land for the development and production of healthcare field’s equipment. In addition, our initiatives to create new businesses that have been making progress since FY2022 have, little by little, started to generate concrete project, and we reaffirm our potential for even further growth and have high expectations in the future.
In October 2023, we announced Hitachi, Ltd.'s Healthcare Business Division will be into Hitachi High-Tech Group. From there, as we are going forward to consider various ways to effectively implement our "Diagnosis x Therapy x Digital " strategy and harness mutual strengths, based on the healthcare purpose “Innovating Healthcare, Embracing the Future", so that we create healthcare innovations such as high-quality, highly functional diagnosis, optimization of diagnosis and treatment, and realization of personalized medicine.

This year, it will be the final year of the 2024 Mid-Term Plan, and will be an important year where we will consider the next Mid-Term Management Plan and ready ourselves at the starting line. I know it involves much hardship during reforms we are currently undergoing to achieve the ambitious goal. However, I hope that you will continue to take on the challenges ahead without fear of change, for the sake of the future growth of the Hitachi High-Tech Group.

The world is continuing complex, and we must accurately grasp what is happening. Understanding is the starting point for changing the world, and I would like all of our employees to recognize that we at Hitachi High-Tech Group, wielding "the ability to understand" that is our Observation, Measurement, and Analysis, can help resolve all kinds of issues in society. By undertaking initiatives to resolve societal issues through our businesses, our business will grow and we will be able to notice our social contribution as well. With all this in aggregate, I want to make our company where we can feel proud to work in the Hitachi High-Tech Group. Let's all work together to make this year of great leaps for Hitachi High-Tech Group’s future.
