In a 3^rd grade science class at Usui-minami Middle School, students observed many kinds of microbes (mold, yeast fungus, and bacteria) with the Tabletop Electron Microscope for their science unit "Connection with Nature World". While comparing images of an optical microscope in a textbook, students learned the mechanism of electron microscope and developed an understanding of each microbe. Also introduced was the relation with Yoshinori Ohsumi, who received the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine for mechanisms for Autophagy.
