Hitachi High-Tech Taiwan has a strong commitment to social contribution activities and held tabletop electron microscope outreach classes for a total of 250 students from 10 classes at Taoyuan Municipal Shih Men Junior High School on October 19 and 20, 2022.
First students learned about the construction of the electron microscope and distinctive characteristics of living creatures, then they used the school’s tablets to experience “Bringing the Micro Closer,” the Hitachi High-Tech Science Education resource website, choosing the theme they wished to study. The students all commented how much fun the games were, and how amazed they were by magnified images of living creatures.
In addition, during 2021 at Taoyuan Municipal Wu-Ling Senior High School , second year students made great efforts in their research observations of the ambulacral feet of sea urchins*1. As a result, they won third place and also received a special award at the National Primary and High School Science Fair*3 (Taiwan’s science fair for elementary, junior high, and high school students) held in August 2022. They are expected to win more science awards going forwards.
Hitachi High-Tech Taiwan will continue activities that support this kind of student research.
