Amarume Daini Elementary School, Yamagata Prefecture
2023/9/20
On September 20th, a hybrid outreach class was held for Amarume Daini Elementary School by Hitachi High-Tech Tohoku Branch Office.
32 sixth-graders took part in the class, where the instructor explained about tabletop electron microscopes while remotely operating the one installed at Hitachi High-Tech’s Headquarters. Additionally, it provided a chance for students to select a familiar object to observe using the electron microscope.
During the class, we observed students chatting happily among themselves and focusing on observing the specimens. We also received very encouraging feedback; for instance, one student expressed interest in learning more about microscopes, while another became intrigued by deeper topics such as biomimetics.
Going forward, the Tohoku Branch Office will continue to promote activities that contribute to society, including science education events.
