Continuing Support for Tohoku Earthquake Recovery: A Hybrid Electron Microscope Workshop Held at Tohoku University Science Campus

On February 3rd, Hitachi High-Tech held its 8th electron microscope workshop as part of the interactive science class organized by Tohoku University Science Campus.

The event was conducted in a hybrid way, connecting Tohoku University's conference hall, online participants, and Hitachi High-Tech headquarters remotely. Along with their parents, 12 students observed samples by remotely operating our electron microscope.
Following the theme of "Recovery from the Tohoku Earthquake," the focus was not only on "observation" but also on "comparison", allowing students to examine a variety of samples.
Students expressed amazement, saying, "I didn't realize you could see so much with an microscope." Parents also provided feedback such as, "Thanks to this, my child has developed a interest in science and experimentation, which has had a very positive impact on her future career path."

Hitachi High-Tech will continue to offer opportunities for students to experience science and technology.
