Let's dig up some fossils!

Fossils from the Cambrian period

The large dinosaurs known as Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops lived roughly 100 million years ago. The Cambrian period took place even longer before that, roughly 500 million years ago. While no land-dwelling living organisms had evolved during this period, a vast array of life thrived where sunlight reached beneath the surface of the Earth's waters.
Some of those creatures were fossilized, preserving even the finest details of their forms even to the present day. We have chosen fossil specimens such as the Burgess fauna in Canada and the Chengjiang fauna in China for you to learn about. They are all world-famous and beautifully preserved Cambrian fossils. Let's dig them up and take a look!
